When I moved back to Jacksonville from Texas, I was in need of a new church home. I became reconnected with Patrick (a friend from high school) who invited me to FCC. I was apprehensive and visited other churches instead but didn't feel "at home" or as though the Lord was leading me to serve in any of them. One Sunday, I felt the Lord was leading me to FCC and I decided to go. As soon as I walked in the door, I truly felt the presence of the Lord. The people were welcoming and I instantly felt connected. I knew without a doubt this was where the Lord wanted me and the very next Sunday I joined the church. By my 3rd week I was serving on the praise team and forming friendships that are rooted in the Lord. I praise God for bringing me here and for growing me in so many ways through this church. FCC seeks to share God's truth and love with the world through truly Bible based preaching and a compassionate outstretched arm.

Over the past eight years, it has been both a blessing and privilege to be a part of the Friendship Community Church family. During this time, my life has taken many life-changing twists nd turns and yet, this wonderful chucrh body has lovingly and prayerfully supported me through each one. Friendship is a place where I have grown through the uncompromised word which is taught, the faithful prayers and committed prayer warriors and where love, kindness and compassion abound. I thank God every day for bringing me here, and cannot imagine my life without this wonderful church family.

When I first came to this church I was 16 years old and up to no good. I had a problem with authority and thought I knew it all. Despite my immaturity and "punk" attitude, the church loved me and embraced me. I came from a very rough and tough family and childhood so feeling this wonderful love and kindness from strangers was strange and new to me. Needless to say I liked it. I continued to come on and off for the next few years until I finally knew God was real and had a purpose for me. This church is my family and on more than one occasion they have come to my rescue. They've loved me unconditionally. I will always call FCC my home.

I first came to FCC with a good childhood friend after he started coming. He invited me to a vacation bible school and said they could use some help getting things ready and moving kids to the different classes. While I was there it was obvious that my appearance was very different from everyone else and even though I expected people to be sort of rude and closed off, they welcomed me with open arms. To their surprise, and my own, I ended up coming every day for VBS. Then I started going on Sunday mornings and did for a few months. I went wayward for quite a while and stopped coming, but in that time God grew me a lot in maturity and I eventually knew that I had to change the way I was living and start living for God. So I decided I would go back to FCC, and I've been there ever since. With the help of the church and pastor, I've grown exponentially. I particularly accredit my discipline to FCC and the teaching I've received there. All in all, Friendship is a home to me, and it's members a family.
